POSITION SUMMARY

\n

We are seeking a mission-driven Internal Communications Director to help shape and amplify our voice across channels, deepen understanding of our mission, and support the VP of Communications in stewarding our internal communications strategy. This role will help build clarity and understanding of Come Near’s work and ensure our messaging aligns with our mission to invite all people one step closer to the authentic Jesus. This position will focus on executive support and internal systems.

The ideal candidate will be a strong storyteller, an experienced strategist, and a skilled writer who can translate complex ideas into compelling, accessible narratives that inspire action.

\n

\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

\n

\n
• Develop and execute strategic internal communications plans in collaboration with the VP of Communications to define internal communications strategy aligned with our culture, brand and internal engagement.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Craft clear, compelling messaging that reflect Come Near’s voice and values.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Cascade information to external partners as needs present themselves.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Partner with the operations and people departments to effectively communicate internally. Provide cross-functional support to all teams as needed.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key communications partners.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Support executive communications, including drafting talking points, scripts, and developing presentation materials.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Manage internal communication foundation, owning message development in coordination with functions and execution of communication strategies.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (Marketing, Impact, Investor Relations, etc.) to support campaigns and storytelling efforts.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Help manage crises or sensitive communications with clarity, professionalism, and alignment with organizational values.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field
\n
• 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic internal corporate communications, public relations, or journalism
\n
• Proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies that achieve measurable results
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms
\n
• Strong understanding of digital storytelling and faith-based communications
\n
• A heart for the mission of Come Near and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
\n
• Background in storytelling around faith, culture, and community
\n
• Familiarity with engaged faith audiences
\n
