Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across multiple states. The ideal candidate has strong payroll experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly payroll for assigned business units.
Maintain payroll processing documentation and task lists.
Respond to employee payroll questions by phone and email.
Support payroll help-desk activities and team coverage.
Process benefit deduction adjustments and related payroll requests.
Process Short-Term Disability pay adjustments and check requests.
Process stop-payment and check-reissue requests.
Enter, review, and maintain garnishments and withholding orders.
Respond to court and agency requests regarding garnishments.
Complete wage verification requests.
Process garnishment refunds and investigate discrepancies.
Work with accounting/GL teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.
Review system-generated reports to ensure payroll and garnishment accuracy.
Participate in payroll system testing, upgrades, implementations, and training.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
Strong data-entry and computer skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends when business needs require.
$1,200–$1,500
Full-time position
Remote/work-from-home
Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional additional hours as needed
