Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active Indiana Special Education Teaching License
• Experience in a self-contained classroom, especially with mild disabilities
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills for adapting to student needs

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide full-time instruction and support to middle school students in a self-contained classroom
• Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that address students' IEP goals
• Track and report student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and related service providers
• Use evidence-based strategies to promote social, emotional, and academic growth
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, encouragement, and safety
